How to Become a Certified Kids Yoga Teacher

A lot of people think you need to be very flexible, experienced, or already a yoga teacher to start teaching kids yoga. That’s not true. In fact, many of our trainees come from completely different backgrounds—teachers, mothers, yoga instructors/lover, fitness instructors, or people looking for a meaningful career add/change.

What matters most is not how advanced your yoga is, it’s more about your ability to connect with children. Kids yoga is very different from adult yoga. You are not teaching perfect poses. You are guiding children through movement, imagination, and simple mindfulness in a way they can understand.

In our training, we start with the basics. You learn how children think, how they respond to instruction, and how to structure a class in a way that keeps them engaged. We also focus a lot on classroom management. This is usually the biggest concern for beginners. You will learn how to guide high-energy children, how to bring them back to focus, and how to manage group dynamics without stress.

Another important part is creative teaching. Instead of repeating the same routine, you learn how to build themed classes using stories, games, and imagination. This is what makes kids yoga fun and effective. You will also learn how to support emotional development in children. Many kids today face challenges like stress, anxiety, or difficulty focusing. As a teacher, you learn how to support them in a safe, simple and fun way.

Most importantly, you don’t just learn theory. You get real practice through observation, assistance, guided teaching, co-teaching until you are confident to teach your own class. In other words, we help you build confidence step by step. After certification, many of our graduates in Malaysia go on to teach in schools, yoga studios, or even start their own classes. Some integrate it into their existing careers as teachers.
